ROCHESTER — Senior defenseman Adam Brubacher (Elmira, Ontario/Powell River Kings) and junior goalie Logan Drackett (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) were named Atlantic Hockey Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Oct. 6, 2019. It is the first time each has been honored by the league this season.
Drackett and Brubacher each played critical roled in helping the Tigers to a 3-1 win at Colgate University in the season opener last Saturday. Drackett made 33 saves in net versus the Raiders, including 10 in the third period. Brubacher recorded a goal and two assists, finished +1 and blocked three shots. He gave RIT a 1-0 lead on his goal 3:11 into the first period. Brubacher added an assist on each of Shawn Cameron’s (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Cumberland Grads) power play goals, including the eventual game-winner midway through the first period.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Oct. 11 against No. 17 Bowling Green at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Toledo, Ohio. Face-off from the Huntington Center is at 8 p.m.
