RIT Duo Awarded Weekly Atlantic Hockey Awards

ROCHESTER, NY — Freshman forward Elijah Gonsalves (Scarborough, Ontario/Wellington Dukes) and junior goaltender Logan Drackett (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) were named Atlantic Hockey Rookie and Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Oct. 27, 2019. It is the second straight week that Drackett and Gonsalves have been honored by the league.

Drackett went 2-0 last weekend at Air Force, recording a 0.50 goals against average and a .988 save percentage in two games at the Cadet Ice Arena. Thursday, Drackett made a season-high 43 saves in a 2-1 win over the the Falcons, including 16 in the second period. Friday, Drackett recorded his second shut-out in three games, making 36 saves in a 1-0 win for the Tigers. Drackett finished October with a 1.17 GAA and a .966 save percentage.

Gonsalves scored the game-winner for RIT at 5:29 of the third period in Thursday’s 2-1 win over the Falcons, finishing the weekend +1. He scored in two of the last three games for RIT and is second on the team behind Shawn Cameron (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Cumberland Grads) with two goals.

RIT hosts Holy Cross for its home-opener at the Gene Polisseni Center on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:05 p.m.
