Play It Again for Charity’s 2013 NHL Alumni Challenge; Teams Can Still Register

    For years Play It Again for Charity has been providing hockey fans and players in Central Pennsylvania with some great experiences. We have hosted the Flyers Alumni, Penguins Alumni, and most recently, The Hanson Brothers and Dennis Lemieux from Slapshot Fame.
    On April 6, 2013 hockey fans will again get a taste of the NHL when 12 NHL Alumni visit the Hershey Area to raise money for Breast Cancer. Scheduled to appear so far are Craig Muni, Dennis Maruk, Richie Dunn, Terry Yake, John Wensink, and Lou Franceschetti.

     

     is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:30  p.m. at Klick Lewis Arena in Palmyra, PA. The event will feature 12 NHL Alumni from various NHL teams who will be divided onto 4 different teams of hockey players who have elected to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunityEach team will play 1 game against each of the other teams. The event will conclude with the Jonestown Bank NHL Alumni Shootout Challenge, and Little Dudes Game — which will introduce area youth to the NHL Alumni.
    According to Jon Jehrio, Chairman of “Play It Again” for Charity; “Those who choose to participate will no doubt enjoy experiences and stories that will stay with them forever. It’s an honor providing hockey players and fans the opportunity to meet and skate with professional players from the greatest game ever!”
    Fans are welcome to attend and enjoy the festivities, and maybe score a photo or autograph from one of the Alumni. The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition will be their accepting donations as well as conducting a silent auction selling hockey themed memorabilia. Play it Again for Charity has already helped raise over $65,000 for the PBCC as well as a great deal of awareness.

    Janet has been covering women's hockey for over 35 years. Along with a 38 year career in Public Relations and over 40 years photographing sports, she found a passion in women's hockey. Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation. When Professional Women's Hockey hit the ice she was there, one of the first to release the story in WNY. Along with her husband, Randy, people comment that if there's hockey, the Schultz's are there!
