Plattsburgh State’s Anthony Del Tufo Named PrestoSports Men’s Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Sophomore Anthony Del Tufo (Livingston, N.J./Philadelphia Revolution) of Plattsburgh State has been named the PrestoSports Men’s Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 21, as announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) on Monday. 

Del Tufo (4-3-1) played to a 2-0-0 record with 52 saves, a .945 save percentage and 1.50 goals-against average on the week. 

Del Tufo began the week with 29 saves and a .967 save percentage in Plattsburgh State’s 5-1 win at Buffalo State on Friday, Nov. 19. Thirteen of Del Tufo’s saves came in the first period, while the game was close before Plattsburgh State pulled away for the 5-1 victory. 

Del Tufo then completed the week with 23 saves and a .920 save percentage in Plattsburgh State’s 5-2 win at Fredonia on Saturday, Nov. 20. Nine of Del Tufo’s saves came in the third period as the Cardinals scored three unanswered goals to break a 2-2 tie and secure the victory.  

Plattsburgh State (4-3-1, 3-2-1 SUNYAC) plays No. 6 Norwich University as part of the FirstLight Shootout at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, in Middlebury, Vt. The Cardinals will then face either Middlebury College or the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, Nov. 27. The FirstLight Shootout consolation game is at 4 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the championship game at 7 p.m.
