Oswego, N.Y. – The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team dominated Stevenson University 6-1 during Pink the Rink Weekend on Saturday afternoon.  Oswego’s win improves its record to 11-6-1 on the season while Stevenson drops to 6-13-1.

Maddy Paul gave the Lakers all it would need when she scored bar-down past the Stevenson goaltender’s right side at 7:06 in the first period. Paul was assisted by freshman teammate Bridget Hamlin.

The Lakers wasted no time adding to its lead as Brennan Butler stuffed a rebound past the netminder’s extended leg just 17 seconds later to make it 2-0.

Oswego wasn’t finished in the first, however, as with just 25 seconds remaining in the period, Olivia Boersen tallied a goal off a pass from Chelsea Hunt.

The two teams were unable to find the back of the net in the second period but Oswego was at it again in the final 20 minutes. After the Mustangs were whistled for a penalty, Alli Ullrichtook advantage, tallying the Lakers’ fourth goal at 4:37. Ullrich was the beneficiary of a scrum in front of the goalie, eventually fighting a puck past the keeper.

Lizzy Marks notched the Lakers next  score at 11:07 in the third. Marks was helped by a pass from Leslie Jarvis. The Lakers final goal came at 18:53 when Jocelyn St. Clair scored a short-handed goal on a Bailee Goodon assist.

Tori Trovato earned her third win of the season in net for the Lakers, stopping 20 shots on the afternoon.
