OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team moved up to No. 2 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll and No. 5 in the D3hockey.com Poll this week after besting Morrisville, 3-2, on Saturday in its only game of the weekend.

In the USCHO.com poll, the Lakers received 257 points, good for second in the nation. Norwich maintained the top spot, receiving 19 of 20 first-place votes and 298 points. Bowdoin, Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Hobart rounded out the top five.

The D3hockey.com poll has Oswego State earning 222 points, having moved up two spots from last week. Norwich also leads this poll, receiving 18 first-place votes and 296 points. Wisconsin-Eau Claire is second, with Utica and Hobart also edging the Lakers for third and fourth, respectively.

Other SUNYAC teams listed in the poll include Plattsburgh, which is ranked ninth in the USCHO.com poll and 11th in the D3hockey.com poll, and Geneseo, which is ranked 12th in the D3hockey.com poll and 14th in the USCHO.com poll.

Oswego State (18-3-0, 11-1-0 SUNYAC) is on the road this weekend, as the Lakers will face Buffalo State and Fredonia on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
