It’s taken five years and then four overtimes but the Orchard Park/Frontier Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Team is headed to the Section VI Semi-Finals.

With no scoring in the first period, Bridget Bork dropped in the first goal at 10:04 of the second, giving Hamburg/West Seneca a 1-0 lead. However, at 8:04 Tatum Walber off a pass from Ubank and Bautz got one past Goalie Mikaela Ditonto. The game stayed tied through three overtimes.

At 6:52 of the fourth overtime Emily Dellaneve put one past Abby Mutton and gave Orchard Park/Frontier the win. The assist came from Riley Johnson.

Mutton faced 64 shots on goal and Ditonto faced 14.

Bridget Bork had the lone goal for Hamburg/West Seneca, also in the first period.

Bork was named a Super 7 Athlete of the Week, coming in at #6 and Williamsville’s Jenna Lukomski was #4. Monsignor Martin’s Kaitlin Drew-Mead earned the #3 sport on January 23.
