SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following yesterday’s 3-1 loss, the Syracuse women’s hockey followed up with a 2-2 tie against the Minnesota Whitecaps on Sunday afternoon at Tennity Ice Pavilion in exhibition play.

Senior Heather Schwarz netted both goals for the Orange in the contest. She snagged her first in the final minute of the first period to put Syracuse ahead 1-0. Dakota Derrer and Larissa Martyniuk facilitated the play.

The Whitecaps evened things up with a goal in the second period and then took the lead with 8:15 left in the game. A little over a minute later, Schwarz scored the game-tying goal on assists from Alysha Burriss and Jessica Sibley.

Freshman Ady Cohen got the starting nod in the game and registered 36 saves in her unofficial Orange debut. Cohen has not played in the regular season for Syracuse yet this season.

Syracuse will be back in action on Nov. 25 and 26 at No. 9 North Dakota.
