NYS Well Represented In NCAA DIII Men’s Hockey Tournament

New York State colleges make up one-third of the 12-team NCAA Division III men’s hockey tournament in brackets and seeding announced Monday morning.

Geneseo (#3) and Utica (#4) received first round byes and will host second round games on March 19th.

Hobart (19-5-2) and Elmira (18-6-2) earned at-large berths. For the Statesmen it is their 11th NCAA tournament appearance. They took first place in the NEHC regular season, but were upset in the playoffs. The Soaring Eagles were fourth in the NEHC and earn their 17th tourney bid. The winner of that game will battle top seed Adrian on March 19th.

All four schools are trying to win their first national ice hockey championship.
