Neumann Tops Cortland In Women’s Hockey

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior Bek Lucas (Feasterville, PA/New Jersey Colonials) recorded a hat trick in leading the Neumann women’s ice hockey team to a 5-3 win at Cortland Saturday afternoon to sweep the two-game weekend series. The Knights improved to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the ECAC West, while the Red Dragons fell to 0-6 overall and in the conference.

Senior Sydney Carlucci (Baldwinsville)/Rochester Edge) tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Cortland offense. Junior Emily Busta (Jackson Township, OH/Ohio Flames) and sophomore Stephanie Heresniak (Woolwich Township, NJ/Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) each netted a goal, while senior Ashley Terry (Redford/Chazy Lady Flyers), sophomore Charlie Calamari (Barrington, IL/Chicago Fury) and freshman Emily Rose (Clayton/Syracuse Nationals) recorded one assist apiece. Freshman goalie Rachael Farmer (Grand Island/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) made 17 saves and surrendered four goals.

Lucas, whose three goals came on the power play, at even strength and short handed, also added an assist for a four-point game. Senior Grace Klienbach (Eustis, FL/Boston Shamrocks) contributed a goal and an assist, sophomore Jordyn Cholish (Exton, PA/Washington Pride) tallied a goal and senior Kelly Fox (Belle Mead, NJ/Princeton Tiger Lilies) chipped in with an assist. Senior goalie Julia Fair (Meadville, PA/Pittsburgh Elite) registered 28 saves.
