ROCHESTER, NY – One game after setting a franchise record with his fifth shutout of the season, Yann Danis wrote his name into the record books again Friday. Thanks to a 22-save performance in the Albany Devils 1-0 victory against the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena, Danis became the second goaltender in club history to record back-to-back shutouts.

Box Score

Scott Wedgewood, who holds the team record for longest shutout streak of 163 minutes and 29 seconds, notched consecutive shutouts on Mar. 15 and 16 during the 2013-14 campaign. Danis, who made 21 saves in his last appearance last Saturday, extended his shutout streak to 127 minutes and 48 seconds.

Danis also registered his 20th win of the season, becoming the fifth goaltender in franchise history to reach the mark. Jeff Frazee posted 28 victories in 2008-09. Mike McKenna and Keith Kinkaid had 24 wins in 2009-10 and 2013-14, respectively. Kinkaid also had 21 in 2012-13 and Frank Doyle posted 20 in 2006-07.

The game’s lone tally came off the stick of Albany’s other 2016 AHL All-Star selection, Mike Sislo. A turnover allowed Sislo to race down the right side and pick the upper-right corner at 6:15 of the third period. The goal was the Devils’ third shorthanded tally of the season and the American’s league-high 11th man-down tally allowed.

Sislo extended his point streak to three games, giving him four goals and an assist during that span. He leads the team with 39 points and 21 tallies.

Head Coach Rick Kowalsky registered his 198th career AHL victory.
