Monsignor Martin/Niagara County Game Recap
The scoreboard read 9-0 at the end of regulation Thursday night at North Buffalo, securing a third place spot for Monsignor Martin in the WNYGVIH League playoff scene.
The game was physical and fast-paced.
Opening scoring for Monsignor Martin was Senior Jacquie Klawon with an assist from Lara Beecher at 7:07 of the first period. The period ended 1-0.
Three penalities for Niagara County and one for Monsignor Martin gave the MM team plenty of opportnity to score, but only one was a Power Play Goal at 4:28 by Mia Boyd, unassisted. Other scorers that period were Moira Michalski and Lara Beecher. Assists went to Haylee Luderman(2) and Riley Malicki.
Monsignor Martin put 5 goals past Niagara County Goalie Annie Riek in the third period, one was a short-handed goal by Michalski, assisted by Groh and Boyd. Other goals were scored by Carnryn Brownschidle (3)and Beecher,
MM Goalie Grace Harrington had the shutout with making 17 saves. Niagara County’s Riek stopped 40 of 49.
