PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Senior goalie Deanna Meunier (Parsippany, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) turned aside 35 shots to become Cortland’s all-time save leader in a 3-1 setback at nationally top-ranked Plattsburgh Sunday afternoon in ECAC West action. Meunier now has 2,099 saves during her four-year career, eclipsing the mark of 2,084 set by Katie Double from 2008-12.

Freshman Charlie Calamari (Barrington, IL/Chicago Fury) netted a power-play goal for the Red Dragons (9-10-1, 5-8-1 ECAC West), and senior Maggie Corbett (Queensbury/Queensbury H.S.) recorded an assist.

Bridget Balisy and Courtney Moriarty each tallied a goal and an assist for the Cardinals (22-0-0, 15-0-0). Muna Fadel scored a goal, and Caitlin Gilligan and Jordan Lipson chipped in with one assist. Goalie Camille Leonard made 13 saves in improving her record to 20-0 on the season.

Balisy gave Plattsburgh a 1-0 lead with her 11th goal of the season at 13:32 of the opening period. Fadel’s unassisted power-play goal at 9:52 of the second period made it a 2-0 game. Later in the period, Meunier broke the record with her 21st save of the game.

Moriarty increased the lead to 3-0 at 3:04 of the third period, scoring with an extra skater after Cortland was whistled for a penalty. Calamari put Cortland on the scoreboard just over three minutes later, netting a power-play goal, her third score of the season.

The Red Dragons, who currently own the sixth seed in the ECAC West, close out their regular season with four key conference games — two at Buffalo State next weekend and two at home versus William Smith the following weekend.
