SUNY Cortland women’s ice hockey second-year assistant coach Megan Quinn has signed to play professionally with the Toronto Six of the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL).
Quinn is an alumna of Syracuse University, where she played defense for the Division I Orange for four seasons before graduating in 2018. The NWHL’s sixth season will be held in a “bubble” format at the iconic 1980 Rink – Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid. League play starts Jan. 23, with teams facing each other once, and will be capped by the 2021 Isobel Cup Playoffs Feb. 4-5. Toronto, a first-year expansion team, is one of six organizations in the league along with the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters (N.J.) and Minnesota Whitecaps.
