LIU’s Wallner Earns USCHO All-Rookie Honors

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) released their awards for the 2021-22 season and LIU first year Jeannie Wallner earned a spot on the USCHO All-Rookie team.

Wallner, who adds this nod onto a now-growing list of collegiate commendations, already earned a spot on the NEWHA All-Rookie team in March.

The freshman from Kings Park, N.Y. has a team second best of 30 points with a team-leading 18 assists in addition to 12 goals for which she is tied for second most with teammate Carrigan Umpherville. Wallner has played in 32 of 34 games this season and has a plus 14 in conference play. She has a .570 face-off winning percentage and has won 200 face-offs this season. She takes an average of 2.75 shots per game. Wallner has the second most blocks on the team with 38, including a season-high four against Quinnipiac.
