Buffalo State has added former Division III All-American Tanis Lamoureux as an assistant coach on its women’s hockey staff under third-year head coach Candice Moxley.

Lamoureux is no stranger to the ECAC West, having played four seasons at Elmira and serving last season as an assistant coach at Utica. As a player, she served as a two-year captain and helped lead the Soaring Eagles to an NCAA Division III National Championship as a junior. She was named second team All-American as a senior and first team All-ECAC West as a senior, finishing her career with 106 points on 44 goals and 62 assists in 109 games. She was also a four-time member of the ECAC West’s All-Academic Team.

Lamoureux completed her bachelor’s degree in biology from Elmira. The Canton, Mich.-native continues to play competitively as a member of the Toronto Furies in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL).

Janet has been covering women's hockey for over 35 years. Along with a 38 year career in Public Relations and over 40 years photographing sports, she found a passion in women's hockey. Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation. When Professional Women's Hockey hit the ice she was there, one of the first to release the story in WNY. Along with her husband, Randy, people comment that if there's hockey, the Schultz's are there!
