Labbe and Auby Tabbed For ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

ALBANY, N.Y. – No. 5/5 Colgate women’s ice hockey junior forward Shae Labbe (Calgary, Alberta) was named the ECAC Hockey Women’s Player of the Week while goaltender Liz Auby (Stoughton, Wisconsin) was tabbed as the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league off on Tuesday.

In addition to Auby’s weekly honor, she was also named the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Second Star of the Week in the inaugural release of the award..

Labbe earned her first career player of the week honors and second of her career while Auby tallied her second consecutive goaltender of the week award.

Labbe had an incredible week for the Raiders as she tie31622d for the lead in the nation with five points while her three goals were tied for second in the country and the most in ECAC Hockey. Labbe scored a pair of power-play goals on Sunday for her fifth multi-goal game while her pair of multi-point games gives her 15 in her career.

With three points Sunday following her two-point game Saturday, Labbe is now one of two Raiders to record points in all four games this season. She is tied with fellow junior Jessie Eldridge for the most goals (4), power-play goals (2), and points (7) on the team. Labbe and Eldridge are tied for the league led in goals and power-play goals and tied for second in points.

Auby continued her impressive start to the 2017-18 seas31623on as the Raiders’ sophomore netminder went 2-0-0 once again. Auby had a remarkable 28-save shutout in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Northeastern to extend her shutout streak to four consecutive games. The streak did come to an end on Sunday but not before shattering the program record for consecutive minutes without allowing a goal at 308:44.

She was one of three goaltenders in the league with two wins and at least one shutout while her 43 saves ranked second in the league. This season, Auby is 4-0-0 with three shutouts, 0.50 GAA and .971 save percentage. Auby leads the nation in GAA, save percentage and shutouts.

The Raiders return to ice this weekend when they host the Mercyhurst Lakers (1-4-1, 1-1-0 CHA) for a two-game series on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Class of 1965 Arena.
