WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Atlantic Hockey Association announced Tuesday that Army West Point seniors Mason Krueger and John Zimmerman have been named the conference’s Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.

Krueger was an offensive force centering the Black Knights’ top line this week, posting three goals and an assist in Army’s two games against LIU. On Saturday, Krueger netted his first career hat trick in Army’s 5-3 win over the Sharks at Tate Rink. Following Colin Bilek’s hat trick a game prior, the pair became the first Army duo since 2007 to record hat tricks in consecutive games. Krueger also became the first Black Knight to complete a natural hat trick since Mark Duebe in 2011.

Leading Army’s top defensive pair, the senior captain Zimmerman contributed on both the offensive and defensive ends for the Black Knights. Entering the weekend with two assists, Zimmerman recorded three helpers in the series against LIU.
