Islanders Acquire Three Draft Picks

CHICAGO (June 24, 2017) – The New York Islanders have acquired three draft picks from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Travis Hamonic and a fourth-round selection.

The Islanders’ sent Hamonic and a fourth-round pick in either 2019 or 2020 to Calgary in exchange for a 2018 first-round pick, a 2018 second-round pick and a second-round pick in either 2019 or 2020 (which associates with the fourth round pick the Islanders select to send to Calgary).

Hamonic, 26, scored 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 49 games last season. A native of St. Malo, MB, Hamonic has 146 points (26 goals, 120 assists) in 444 career games over seven seasons with the Islanders. The Islanders selected Hamonic in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
