The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team (7-8) defeated Mohawk Valley Community College (5-9) 9-1 on Wednesday evening.
Brandon Doherty (John Jay/Hopewell Junction) and Nick VanLiew (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) led the Vikings with two goals apiece, and Nate Muller (Bellows Free Academy/Highgate, VT) recorded 29 saves, allowing only one goal to earn the win.
The hockey team hosts SUNY Broome on Saturday at 1 p.m.
