Men’s hockey captain Brett Hope (Blenheim, ON/Blenheim) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week after leading the way to a weekend sweep against Fredonia that clinch the Bengals’ fifth-consecutive SUNYAC playoff berth.
The junior economics and finance major tallied seven points in the two-game home-and-home series. Hope had a goal and two assists in Friday’s 3-1 home win, and then had a goal and three assists in a 6-2 win at Fredonia on Saturday.
Hope is now second on the team with 21 points (eight goals and 13 assists) in 23 games.
Buffalo State will close out the regular season with a pair of home games this weekend against Brockport and Geneseo on Friday and Saturday respectively.
