OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team fell, 3-0 to Hamilton on Friday night. With the loss, the Lakers move to 5-7 this season, while the Continentals improve to 5-2.

Goalie Amber Samonek played the entire game for the Lakers, collecting 22 saves. The sophomore’s saves against Hamilton bring her total for the season to 136.

Offensively, Madison Byrne, Philomena Teggart and Natalie Giglio each contributed two shots to the Lakers’ efforts. One of the team’s best scoring opportunities came early on in the game. With 6:23 left in the first period, there was a loose puck near the Hamilton net, but Oswego was unable to capitalize.

The Lakers did not have a single power-play opportunity against the Continentals. All three of Hamilton’s goals were power-play goals.

Next time out, the Lakers will host the Utica College Pioneers at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.
