UTICA, N.Y. – Wilkes University women’s ice hockey first year Emma Guzdek (Amherst, NY) earned United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Rookie of the Week honors for her performance last week.
The honor is Guzdek’s first of her young career as she helped the Colonels to split their season-opening home series against the Neumann Knights. She scored one goal and netted one assist in the first matchup against Neumann as the Colonels finished 1-1 against their UCHC foe on the week.
The Navy and Gold look to build upon their victory on Saturday against Neumann as they travel to face the Nazareth Golden Flyers this Friday in Rochester, N.Y. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
