ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators shutout the Rochester Americans 4-0 in the first meeting of back-to-back home games. Scott Greenham gave Binghamton their first shutout of the season while Ryan Dzingel led the offense with one goal and one assist.

The B-Sens jump-started the game with a 2-0 lead in record-setting fashion after Nick Paul and David Dziurzynski scored eight seconds apart. Paul’s goal came 12:47 into the opening period when he swiped home a centering feed from newly acquired defenseman, Conor Allen. On the ensuing faceoff, Binghamton quickly moved into the Amerks zone with Ryan Penny’s wrist shot careening off of Linus Ullmark’s goalie pad where Dziurzynski snapped home the rebound to give Binghamton the 2-0 lead. The B-Sens weathered three Amerks power plays, including a four-minute high sticking penalty, to head into the games first intermission leading their hosts 2-0.

Dzingel extended Binghamton’s lead to 3-0 with a power-play goal 12:28 into the middle frame for the lone tally of the period. Greenham turned aside all 13 shots faced in the period to send the B-Sens to the final intermission break with a three-goal cushion.

Eric O’Dell scored his fourteenth goal of the season a little past the midway point of the third period off assists from Cole Schneider and Dzingel to push the final score to 4-0.

Greenham earned his first shutout of the season with 33 saves while Ullmark picked up the loss with 21 saves.
