Fifth Annual Amerks Street Hockeyfest Set For August 28

(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced that the team will host its fifth annual Amerks Street HockeyFest for kids ages 18 and under on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, located in Brighton, NY, on the campus of Monroe Community College (MCC).
Registration for the street hockey tournament is now open at www.amerks.com/StreetHockey. The coed tournament is open to boys and girls ages 18 and under at a cost of $125 per team. Each team will consist of up to five players and will be guaranteed at least three games in the all-day, rain or shine event, which begins at 9:00 a.m. (Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.). Every player will receive an Amerks Street HockeyFest t-shirt and ticket vouchers (five total per team) for tickets to the Amerks 2016-17 Home Opener on Friday, Oct. 14. Registrants of the tournament will also be able to purchase additional vouchers to the Amerks Home Opener at a discounted rate.

Registration for the tournament is open on a first come, first serve basis. The tournament will consist of six divisions based on USA Hockey guidelines for the upcoming season.

• 8 or Under (2008-2009)
• 10 or Under (2006-2007)
• 12 or Under (2004-2005)
• 14 or Under (2002-2003)
• 18 or Under (1998-2001)

Games will be played 3-on-3 plus a goaltender and one optional substitute on the parking lot surface at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. Participants are responsible for bringing their own equipment, including sneakers, hockey sticks and gloves. Goaltender equipment is mandatory, while helmets are mandatory for ALL PLAYERS. Additional protective gear is optional, but recommended. Each player will also need to complete a waiver prior to participating.
