ELMIRA, N.Y. —Nick Ford ’20 of the Elmira College men’s ice hockey team added to his collection of awards, as he was named to the All-USCHO Third Team by U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO).

Ford, a former AHCA All-American and an All-UCHC Second Team honoree in 2020, enjoyed another successful season during the 2019-20 campaign. He capped his senior year with 40 points on 13 goals and 27 assists in 26 games played.

A product of New Lenox, Illinois, Ford’s 40 points and 27 assists paced the Purple and Gold, while his 13 goals ranked second on the squad. He became just the third Soaring Eagle in program history to lead the team in points in three consecutive seasons, joining former EC greats Pierre Rivard ’04 and Kurt Kalweit ’84 with that honor.

A model of consistency, Ford was a steady point producer for the Soaring Eagles throughout his career, but he took it to another level this past season. Ford’s name can be found on the scoresheet from each and every game during the 2019-20 season, as he concluded his collegiate career on a 26-game point streak. During that time, Ford produced 10 multi-point performances.

Ford exits Elmira with 149 points, a mark that is tied for 14th in EC history, on 63 goals and 83 assists.

Although his collegiate career concluded in late February, Ford forged ahead in the professional ranks with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, affiliates of the NHL’s Nashville Predators. In three games with the Everblades, Ford produced one assist.
