Elmira Defeats Fredonia, 6-3

FREDONIA, N.Y. — Stephen Collins had two goals and an assist to lead Geneseo over Fredonia, 6-3, in SUNYAC men’s hockey Saturday.

Geneseo scored three unanswered goals, two by Collins and one by Cam Hampson, to break a 1-1 tie in the second period.

Jimmy Morgan (Highland Ranch, Col.) and Michael Freeman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) scored their first collegiate goals for the Blue Devils, who fell to 3-4-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference.

Zach White (Taberg, N.Y.) also had a goal for Fredonia, his second of the season.

Special teams were key for both teams. All three Fredonia goals came on the power play. Geneseo countered with two power-play goals and one short-handed goal.

The Blue Knights improved to 4-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the conference.

The loss was Fredonia’s first loss at home, where they are now 2-1.

The Blue Devils are idle until Dec. 4 at Cortland.
