Dutchwomen Lose To Harvard, 3-0, On Senior Day

SCHENECTADY, NY—The Union College women’s ice hockey team celebrated seniors Jessica Kaminsky, Elizabeth Otten, Jamie Smith, Kathryn Tomaselli and Courtney Turner on Saturday afternoon at Messa Rink after they fell to Harvard 3-0.

Harvard was able to tally two goals in the first period to give them an advantage. The Crimson’s Sydney Daniels and Michelle Picard both found the back of the net. Daniels goal was assisted by Miye D’Oench and Picard. Picard’s point was assisted by Daniels and Karly Heffernan.

Union entered the second period trailing 2-0. 14 minutes elapsed before Harvard’s Daniels netted her unassisted second goal which gave them the 3-0 victory.

Melissa Black tallied 30 saves in the game while the Crimson’s Emerance Maschmeyer posted 19. Union also recorded 15 blocked shots, Jacyn Reeves had four. Jamie Smith had six shots on goal, while the Crimson’s Dani Krzyszczyk and Miye D’Oench each had six.

The Dutchwomen close out the 2015-16 at Princeton and Quinnipiac next weekend. Union faces the Bobcats on Friday, February 19 at 7 p.m., and Princeton on Saturday, February 20 at 4 p.m.
