CLIFTON PARK, N.Y.— Lily Delianedis has been named the ECAC Women’s Hockey Rookie of the Week after posting a three-point weekend to help lift the Big Red to its first weekend sweep of the season.

The sophomore from Edina, Minn. recorded a goal and an assist in the Big Red’s 3-0 win over Union Friday night. She scored the second goal of the game when Gillis Frechettefired off a shot from the circle and Kaitlin Jockims caught the deflection and moved the puck to far side of the net where Delianedis was there to knock it in for the 2-0 lead with 13:50 left in the final period.

Moments later, Delianedis got her fourth assist of the season when she caused a Union turnover and passed the puck up the ice to Izzy Daniel who made a clean move across the crease for the backhand under the blocker arm of Union’s goaltender.

Delianedis then scored the game winner the following night when she scored with 4:00 left in the 2-2 game off a redirect from Frechette to send the Big Red home with its first two league wins of the season.

This is the second Rookie of the Week honor for the young Big Red squad. Rory Guilday earned the honor the earlier this season during the week of Oct. 25.
