College Hockey America is pleased to welcome Sport Nation as a 2017-18 partner. Sport Nation is a full service athletic event management company located in Buffalo, NY.

Sport Nation brings over 25 years of experience and brand equity to College Hockey America. The organization has experience working with many organizations, including the NCAA, the Special Olympics, the IIHF, and the New York State Games, who all have had events run in Buffalo in recent years.

“Having an organization like Sport Nation partner with us for the 2017-18 season and the 2018 CHA Tournament is a huge boost in growing our tournament in the greater Buffalo area” said Commissioner Robert DeGregorio. “They have a deep-rooted foundation in Buffalo and Western New York, understand the importance of hockey, especially women’s hockey, to the region, and can only be an asset for us moving forward.”

The CHA Tournament is entering its third year at Buffalo’s HarborCenter, the downtown facility owned by Pegula Sports and Entertainment. New for 2017, and continuing to 2018, all six teams play a single-elimination tournament over the course of three days. The 2017 Tournament was very successful, with Robert Morris taking home the championship trophy, but with the addition of Sport Nation, the CHA envisions a greater 2018 Tournament.

“Being a woman-owned sport business, it makes complete sense for us to partner with the CHA through one of our top sports in Western NY” said Kristen Wood, owner of Sport Nation. “We look forward to welcoming these great Division I collegiate athletes to Buffalo and the HarborCenter in March. Through this partnership Sport Nation and CHA hope to continue hosting this great women’s conference tournament each year in Buffalo and help the development of women’s hockey.”

The 2018 CHA Tournament begins on Thursday, March 1st with the two quarterfinal games. The matchups and game times will be known at a later date in the season.
