NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Breanne Wilson-Bennett (Markham, Ontario) scored a pair of goals for the Raiders Friday night at Ingalls Rink as the No. 3/3 Colgate women’s ice hockey team dominated the Yale Bulldogs in a 5-1 win.

Wilson-Bennett picked up her second two-goal game of the season and sixth of her career as part of the Raiders fifth consecutive win, tied for the third longest winning streak in program history.

Fellow seniors Annika Zalewski (New Hartford, New York) and Lauren Wildfang (Waterdown, Ontario) also added two points on the night with Zalewski recording a goal and an assist and Wildfang picked up a pair of assists.

Kaila Pinkney (Denfield, Ontario) and junior Jessie Eldridge (Barrie, Ontario) also scored for the Raiders in Friday night’s victory.

The Raiders got a pair of goals in the first 10:07 of the game behind Eldridge’s eighth goal of the season and Wilson-Bennett’s first goal of the game. Eldridge put the Raiders on top 1-0 just 2:54 into the game before Wilson-Bennett doubled the Raiders lead just over seven minutes later.

Yale pulled within a goal as Laura Anderson potted her second of the season but its as close as the Bulldogs could get in Friday’s game.

Zalewski buried her third goal of the season just 1:11 into the second period and Pinkney got her first of the year nearly midway through the third as Olivia Zafuto (Niagara Falls, New York) and senior Ellie DeCaprio (Wellesley, Massachusetts) picked up the helpers on Pinkney’s goal.

Wilson-Bennett capped off the scoring with her second goal of the game coming with 8:24 to go in the third period to solidify the Raiders win to make them 12-1-0, tied for the most wins for the program in its first 13 games after going 12-0-1 in the first 13 games last season.

The Raiders picked up their fifth consecutive win to improve to 12-1-0 (4-1-0 ECAC Hockey) while the Bulldogs fall to 2-5-2 (1-4-2 ECAC Hockey)

-The Raiders scored five goals in a game for the fourth time this season and have scored four or more goals on eight different occasions
-Wilson-Bennett tallied her second two-goal game of the season and her sixth career two-goal game

-The Raiders once against dominated the shots with a 37-18 advantage and recorded at least 12 shots in every period
-Colgate tallied a power-play goal for the third straight game and was perfect (4 for 4) on the penalty kill for the ninth time this season
-The Raiders also won the faceoff battle 38-22 led by Wilson-Bennett’s game-high 14 wins and Labbe’s 12 for 17 performance
