HAMILTON – Long-time foes Colgate and Cornell are putting their hockey rivalry aside for a great cause.
The Central New York adversaries are joining forces on Jan. 31 for the inaugural Courage Classic, dedicated to the children of Camp Good Days.
The contest takes places at Lynah Rink on the campus of Cornell University during the second leg of the team’s annual home-and-home series that begins Jan. 30 with a 7 p.m. contest at Starr Rink.
Each team has been assigned three honorary coaches, who are all participants in the programs and services at Camp Good Days.
The Cornell honorary coaches attended practice at Lynah Rink this week. Colgate welcomes its honorary coaches to practice at Starr Rink next Wednesday (Jan. 28).
On game night, the honorary coaches will join their teams in a VIP area outside the locker room before warm-ups and will be at center ice for a ceremonial puck drop. The honorary coaches and their families will be sitting in reserved seating for the duration of the game.
