Hobart hockey senior goaltender Lino Chimienti (Montreal, Quebec) was named the ECAC West Goalie of the Week. It’s the fourth time this season Chimienti has earned the award.

Chimienti played all 125 minutes in goal in Hobart’s 1-0-1 weekend. He turned aside a total of 81 shots, posted a 1.44 GAA and a .964 save percentage. He’s now 8-1-2 in goal this season. Chimienti made 45 saves, matching his career-high, in a 1-1 overtime tie at No. 7/8 Trinity. He then made 36 saves in a 3-2 win at Wesleyan.

Chimienti also stopped 45 shots in a 2-1 win over Nazareth on Feb. 26, 2014. The mark is tied for seventh on Hobart’s single game list.

Junior forward Nick Bingaman (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) and first-year forward Cam Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.) were also named to the league’s weekly honor roll. Bingaman led the Statesmen with three points on a goal and two assists over the weekend, while Shaheen notched the game-winning goal against the Cardinals.

The Statesmen, who are now 8-2-2 overall, moved up to No. 9 in this week’s USCHO.com poll and down to No. 7 in the D3hockey.com poll. Senior Mac Olson (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) leads the team with 14 points on eight goals and six assists. Hobart ranks ninth in the nation in team winning percentage (.750), 14th in scoring defense (2.08 ga/gm) and tied for 14th in scoring margin (1.33). The Statesmen are 21st in Division III on the penalty kill (87.7 percent).

Hobart will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 8, when it hosts No. 6/7 Geneseo (8-1-2) for a non-league game at 7:30 p.m.
