Canisius Freshman Grant Meyer Named to AHC All-Rookie Team

Canisius freshman forward Grant Meyer has been named to the 2017-18 Atlantic Hockey Conference All-Rookie Team.

A native of Genoa, Ohio, Meyer becomes the ninth player in program history to garner all-rookie team accolades and the second in as many seasons, as current sophomore Nick Hutchison was named to the squad a year ago.

Meyer took part in 27 league games during his inaugural campaign with the Golden Griffins, recording six goals and eight assists for 14 points. He ranked fourth in the league in goals and fifth in scoring among first-year players.

Meyer garnered Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week honors after posting a season-high three points (2g, 1a) in a 6-1 victory over American International on Jan. 12.
