The Canisius College hockey team was slated to finish fourth in the Atlantic Hockey preseason poll, announced by the conference on Wednesday.

The Griffs – who have advanced to three-straight Atlantic Hockey Championship weekends, including the team’s first title in 2013 – received 64 points in the 11-team preseason poll. Robert Morris led the way with 97 points, including seven first-place votes, and was followed by RIT (91 points) and Bentley (72 points). Sacred Heart (56), Holy Cross (55), Air Force (47), Mercyhurst (46), Niagara (38), Army West Point (29) and AIC (10) followed Canisius and rounded out the poll.

Canisius returns 13 letterwinners from a team that matched its best Atlantic Hockey finish in school history last season. The Griffs open the 2015-16 regular season with a home game against Penn State at HARBORCENTER.
