HARTFORD, Conn.–Erin Gehen (W. Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) scored twice to lead Buffalo State to a 3-1 victory over host Trinity tonight in a non-conference match up.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rachel Lenard (Orchard Park, NY/Nardin) also scored for Buffalo State, and Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) had a pair of assists.
Gehen opened the scoring just under six minutes into the game with her sixth goal of the season with assists from Harris and Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton).
After the Bantams pulled even early in the second period, Lenard’s sixth of the year from Harris and Viivi Vaattovaara (Veikkola, Finland) put the Bengals back in front midway through the stanza.
Gehen added an unassisted insurance marker with her seventh of the season midway through the third period.
Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) did the rest for the Bengals, finishing with 33 saves.
Buffalo State outshot the Bantams 40-34. The Bengals were 2 for 5 on the power play and killed off all six shorthanded situations.

FOR THE FOES
Olivia White scored Trinity’s only goal.
Jess Thulin made 37 saves in the loss.

Buffalo State will play at Trinity again tomorrow at 5 p.m. before taking a more than a month off. The Bengals next game after tomorrow will not be until Jan. 6 at Salem State.
