Black Stops 50 As The Dutchwomen Fall To Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ—The Union College women’s ice hockey team fell 4-2 to No. 8/9 Princeton Tigers on Saturday Afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink.

The Dutchwomen held the Tigers for the first 10 minutes of play without a goal, until Audrey Potts netted a goal after 10:32. In the first, Union was outshot 15-4.

In the second period, Kelsey Koelzer potted one at the 10 minute mark while Emily Achterkirch notched one with 30 seconds left in the second.

In the third, Kimiko Marinacci nets the final goal for the Tigers at the 6:37 mark. Union netted two late goals to close the gap. Kathryn Tomaselli’s goal came at the 8:00 mark off an assist from Alli Devins. Jamie Smith found the back of the net off assists from Jacyn Reeves and Courtney Turner.

Melissa Black recorded 50 stops, she finishes the season with 1,111 saves in second-place in single-season saves and in ninth in career saves.

Seniors Jessica Kaminsky, Elizabeth Otten, Smith, Turner and Tomaselli complete their collegiate careers at Union College.
