MASSENA, N.Y–The SUNY Potsdam men’s  hockey team will be raising awareness
for cystic fibrosis during its final home weekend of the 2012-13 season.
The Bears will be hosting two local children who are afflicted with the
disease during their games against Oswego State and SUNY Cortland this
weekend.

Joining Potsdam for the two contests will be 10-year-old Hunter Cooke of
Hogansburg and two and half-year-old Claire Nezezon of Norwood. Cooke, the
son of Marla and Chris Jacobs, joined the team as an honorary Bear through
the Team Impact organization back in October. Claire is the daughter of
Chris and Jessica Nezezon and granddaughter of Dayna Cole who works in
SUNY Potsdam痴 Office of Curriculum and Instruction.

Fans attending the contests can purchase pin-ups upon entry to Massena
Arena at the ticket table. All funds raised from the pin-ups will go to
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Cystic Fibrosis is a life threatening disease that affects the lungs and
digestive system. Progress is being made in the fight against cystic
fibrosis. While Hunter and Claire appear to very healthy children, they
endure several treatments a day to maintain healthy lungs and digestion.

The Bears wrap up the regular season this weekend. On Friday, they host
No. 2 Oswego State. Then Potsdam battles SUNY Cortland with a playoff spot
on the line on Saturday night. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
