Arena Named for Famous Hometown Restaurant

The Sports Centre at Monroe Community College has a new name and one that is familiar to WNY’ers.

Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex is now the new name for the Centre and is home to Monroe County Youth Hockey, Rochester Youth Hockey Association, Monroe Community College Hockey, Nazereth Ice Hockey, Northern Educate Hockey Academy and numerous other organizations.

The 30-year naming rights agreement also includes an extension of the existing lead for Bill Gray’s Restaurant, Tap Room, Snack Bar, and Abbott’s Frozen Custard to operate at the facility for 30 years.

“We’re very excited about the future of Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex. We have enjoyed working with the team at the facility on upcoming programs and events, and look forward to a great partnership,” aid Holly Seiler, marketing and social media manager for Bill Gray’s.

“It is an honor to be partnered with Bill Gray’s. They are a first class organization that has established an impeccable restaurant tradition in Rochester since 1938,” said Chris Woodworth, director of programming and marketing at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.

Bill Gray’s is home of the “World’s Greatest Cheeseburger,” with 176 restaurants throughout the Rochester and Buffalo area. It is locally owned and has over 1,200 employees.
