Angello Scores OT Goal To Lift Cornell To A Win Over Colgate

HAMILTON – Anthony Angello scored 1:10 into overtime to lift Cornell to a 3-2 victory over Colgate in ECAC Hockey action Saturday at Starr Rink.

The Raiders held a 2-1 lead after the first period. Tyson Spink opened the scoring just 3:40 into the contest before Patrick McCarron tied the game at 1-1 with 15:35 elapsed in the first.

Brett Corkey put Colgate back in front less than two minutes later with a goal during a 5-on-3 opportunity, but Matt Buckles answered with a power play strike of his own late in the second period to draw Cornell level at 2-2 and set up Angello’s overtime heroics.

Mitch Gillam made 26 saves in goal for Cornell. Charlie Finn stopped 30 shots between the pipes for Colgate.
