Amerks Sign Former RIT Defenseman To PTO

(Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed defenseman Cameron Burt to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Burt, 28, has appeared in 45 games with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades this season, recording 36 points (4+32) and 86 penalty minutes. Last season, he made his AHL debut by appearing in nine games with the Manchester Monarch and collecting six points (1+5). In 159 career ECHL games with Ontario and Florida, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of Detroit, Michigan, has recorded 104 points (13+91) and 184 penalty minutes.

Prior to his professional career, Burt played four seasons of college hockey at RIT in Rochester. In 147 games with the Tigers, Burt registered 136 points (43+93) and helped lead RIT to the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four.
