Albany Devils Add Ryan Rehill

ALBANY, NY –The Albany Devils have signed defenseman Ryan Rehill to an amateur tryout agreement. The announcement was made by Albany General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Rehill, 20, was selected by New Jersey in the fifth round, 131st overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft. He finished this season when Kamloops was eliminated from the WHL Playoffs on Tuesday. In 63 regular-season games, he produced 10 goals and 29 assists for 39 points, while totaling 94 penalty minutes. Prior to postseason play, Rehill, was named the team’s Eldon Dever Trophy (Best Defenseman) and the Dean Evason Award (Inspiration Leadership and Ability) winner. Rehill, who served as an alternate captain, added two goals and three assists during the Blazers’ seven-game series against Kelowna.

During four years with Kamloops, Rehill registered 21 goals and 60 assists for 81 points in 249 games. Additionally, he amassed 508 penalty minutes. In 2013-14, he led the WHL with 182 penalty minutes.

Prior to joining Kamloops for the 2012-13 season, Rehill played for South Side (NAMHL), Maple Leaf (AMHL) and Beverly (CJHL).
The 6’3”, 220 lb. Edmonton, AB native was born on Nov. 7, 1995.
