BUFFALO, NY – When a player scores the games only two goals you would think he would be voted player of the game.  But when that players’ teammate plays like he has a brick wall in front of him it can change the whole situation.

That’s exactly what happened Monday afternoon at KeyBank Center as Niagara Wheatfield downed Williamsville North, 2-0, in the Section VI, Division I final. It was the first game of a triple header Super Monday.

Chace Woods was the senior forward who scored both goals for the victorious Falcons. His first goal came late in the first period, with assists going to Zack Belter and Nick Breier.

That single goal lead stood up through a second period which saw the Spartans fire 17 shots at Falcons goalie, Peyton Siegmann.

The Falcons got another break in the third period at the 3:46 mark when the team was awarded a penalty shot. Woods again came up big, beating Williamsville North netminder, Reilly Moyer.

When the final horn sounded the Falcons swarmed Siegmann, who turned aside all 31 Spartan shots. The loss ended North’s reign as New York State champion.
