It took 46 shots, but the Buffalo Jr. Sabres finally got the goal they needed.

With exactly two minutes remaining in regulation and with his team on the penalty kill, Matt Jakubowski notched his first Ontario Junior Hockey League goal to even Sunday’s game against the St. Michael’s Buzzers at a score of 1-1.

In the end, it would be the Buzzers celebrating when all was said and done, as Thomas Flack potted his second goal of the game in the four-on-four overtime period to give St. Mike’s the extra point.

The Jr. Sabres failed to score on five power play opportunities over the course of the game, including a full, two-minute five-on-three advantage in the second period.

Christian DiFelice had the lone assist on Jakubowski’s goal for his team-leading XXth point of the season.

Tucker Weppner stopped 36 of 38 shots faced in the loss, while Cosimo Lazzarino stopped 46 of 47 shots.
