Seventeen members of the Hobart College hockey team earned a spot on the 2016-17 ECAC West-All Academic team. This is the third time since 2005 the Statesmen have put 17 players on the All-Academic team.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have completed one full year at his current institution. The following Statesmen earned all-academic accolades:

Belizario, Bingaman, Hanzlik, Neal, and Russo were named to the team for the third year in a row, while Haskell, Oplinger, Silard, and Wolf earned the award for the second straight year.
The Statesmen finished the 2016-17 season with a 20-5-4 record. It was Hobart’s 15th consecutive winning season and third straight 20-win season. Hobart captured the ECAC West tournament title for the third straight season and earned the program’s seventh NCAA Tournament appearance. The Statesmen were ranked ninth in the nation in the final D3hockey.com poll and 10th in the final USCHO.com poll.
