10 Bears Hockey Players Named ACHA All-American Scholars

POTSDAM, N.Y.-10 SUNY Potsdam hockey players have been named Krampade All American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association. Eight members of the Bears men’s team and two from women’s team have earned the honor for the 2018-19 season.

Players eligible must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and have played in at least 40 percent of their team’s contests.

Senior captain Ben Mariano (Harrisburg, Pa./Hartford Wolfpack), senior assistant captain Nate Skidmore (Syracuse, N.Y./Buffalo Jr. Sabres), junior assistant captain Vincent Guimond (Sorel-Tracy, Quebec/Gloucester Rangers), junior defenseman Joseph Richardson (Palm Beach, Fla./PAL Islanders), sophomore forward Paul Michura (Chester, N.J./New Jersey Rockets), freshman defenseman Ethan Clark (Seven Valleys, Pa./New Hampshire Avalanche), freshman defenseman Chris Gratton (Bucktown, Pa./Walpole Express) and freshman forward Devin Panzeca (Lake Zurich, Ill./East Coast Wizards) claimed the award for the men. Mariano, Skidmore and Richardson earned the honor for the second straight season.

Junior defenseman Delphine Léonard (Anjou, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) and freshman forward Stephanie Dunlap (Bath, Mich./Meijer U19 AAA) collected the award for the women’s program. Léonard was also an All American Scholar for the 2017-18 season.

The Bears men posted an 8-16-1 (4-11-1 SUNYAC) record last season. The women were 9-14-3 (6-8-2 NEWHL), finishing second in the NEWHL and hosting the first home playoff game in program history.
