TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced its weekly award winners for men’s hockey and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Owen Savory has been named MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week.

A sophomore from Cambridge, Ont., Savory posted a 25-save shutout of St. Lawrence University in his only start last week. On Saturday against the Saints, he recorded six saves in the first period, eight in the second and 11 in the third to pick up his fourth win the season. Stopping a handful of breakaway in the first two periods, he helped the Engineers go 3 for 3 killing penalties on the night.

Last season, Savory was a finalist for ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year and took home All-Rookie Team honors. He earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, as well as the team’s Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player and Freshman of the Year.

The Engineers are back in action this weekend, when they host No. 2 Cornell University and Colgate University on Friday (7pm) and Saturday (7pm), respectively.
