William Smith College junior forward Alison Weiss was named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference Women’s North Division Player of the Week today.

Weiss led the Herons with three points on two goals and an assist in a weekend sweep of Salve Regina. On Friday, She scored both of William Smith’s goals in regulation in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Seahawks. Weiss opened the scoring with an unassisted power-play goal 5:57 into the first period. At the 12:20 mark of the second period, she put William Smith in front 2-1, cleaning up a rebound in front of the cage. In Saturday’s 5-1 win over Salve Regina, Weiss assisted on junior Julia Mings’ power-play goal at the 18 minute-mark of the first period.
