The Buffalo Beauts added a strong two-way forward to their roster with the signing of Cassidy MacPherson, who earlier this year completed her collegiate career at Providence.

“Ever since it started, it has been a dream of mine to play in the NWHL, and I’m looking forward to a great season ahead in Buffalo,” said MacPherson, a native of Oakville, Ontario.

The 5-6 forward played 146 games for Providence between 2015-2019 and had 25 goals and 53 assists for 78 points. In her senior year, she had a .551 winning percentage on faceoffs and was the recipient of the Friars’ Unsung Hero Award.

“Cassidy has great poise with the puck and a goal-scorer’s touch,” said Buffalo GM Mandy Cronin. Head coach Pete Perram said MacPherson “is a smooth and speedy skater with exceptional hands.”
