BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 9, 2016) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the team has recalled goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Ullmark (6’4”, 212 lbs., 7/31/1993), who made his NHL debut with the Sabres in October 2015, has appeared in 19 games for the team in 2015-16, posting a 7-10-2 record with a .915 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average.
In his first North American professional season, the Lugnvik, Sweden native shares the Americans’ team lead with 26 AHL appearances and has recorded a 10-14-0 record with a .902 save percentage and a 3.37 goals-against average.
The Sabres selected Ullmark in the sixth round (163rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. Prior to his transition to North America this season, he spent parts of four seasons with MODO of the Swedish Hockey League, earning the Honken Trophy as the Swedish Goaltender of the Year in 2013-14 and won a bronze medal with Sweden at the 2014 World Championship in Belarus.
